Helping charities stay compliant with their financial reporting
Your charity's finances shouldn't keep you up at night.
Between restricted funds, Gift Aid rules, trustee reporting and Charity Commission deadlines, charity finance is a different world from standard bookkeeping — and getting it wrong isn't just stressful, it can put trustees personally at risk and undermine the trust your donors and funders place in you.
Charities can often find themselves juggling this alone: a treasurer trustee doing their best in their spare time, systems that were never quite built with charity reporting in mind, or a finance team stretched too thin to step back and think strategically. The result is often late nights before deadlines, nagging uncertainty about whether the numbers are actually right, and a nervousness every time the auditor or examiner comes calling.
I bring calm, senior-level expertise to charities of every size, so you can hand over the financial worry and get back to focusing on your mission. Whatever stage your charity is at, I'll make sure your finances are accurate, compliant, and ready to stand up to scrutiny.

"Whilst Head of Finance at Tusk, Julie guided the charity’s financial management through a strong period of growth, maintaining a tight hold on the complex elements of the organisation’s revenue and deployment of funds to over 75 project partners across Africa. It was hugely reassuring for me as CEO to know that her budgets and forecasting were on track at all times."
Charlie Mayhew, OBE
"Julie is an experienced finance director with excellent understanding of charity sector complexities, particularly fund accounting. She is well organised and great at working collaboratively to meet deadlines."

About Julie
I'm a Fellow Chartered Management Accountant (FCMA/CGMA) with over 25 years' experience, much of it spent supporting charities and conservation organisations. For nine years I was Head of Finance at Tusk Trust, working as part of the senior leadership team alongside the Board and CEO — and I now serve as Financial Controller for Lewa Wildlife Conservancy International.
I'm known for being calm, clear and practical. I believe charities do their best work when they're not worrying about their finances, and that's exactly what I help make possible.
I care about every client's mission, not just their numbers – that's true whatever kind of charity you run. Environmental conservation, community-based initiatives, and UK biodiversity restoration hold a particular place in my heart too, so if that's your world, you're in good company.
